Yang style Tai Chi prevents falls, there is now top level evidence for this.


I have been practising Yang style Tai Chi all these years, and have encouraged my less active mature age patients to do this to prevent frailty. Now there is finally too level evidence to support this.

Meta analysis showed in 18 trails of 3800 plus participants that Tai Chi, particularly Yang style significantly reduces first fall and falls rate in elderly. The more you do, the greater the effect. Get out there, get some fresh air, join a group... British Medical Journal 2018; 363:k4265
